Stratford, Shaw actors headline Dickens' event

Five of Canada's premier actors will take part in a reading of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" in London on Monday evening, December 12. (Shown: London Pro Musica Choir)


As well, the evening will feature nationally recognized soloists, the London Pro Musica Choir, and a performance by children from the El Sistema program. All proceeds from the event – at 7 p.m., at Bishop Cronyn Memorial Centre in London – will be donated to the Aeolian Hall's El Sistema music program for children.

Readers will include Kyle Blair, Naomi Wright, Michael Therriault, Thom Marriott and Brian Tree, all of whom have appeared on the stage at Stratford, the Shaw, and other major Canadian venues.

Musical guests include soprano Erin Bardua and mezzo Vicki St. Pierre. Also performing will be soprano Charlene Pauls – who will do double duty, since she also directors London Pro Musica Choir. Children from El Sistema will perform under the direction of Rod Culham. T

his is the third annual Dickens' event to be organized by London Pro Musica Choir; in previous years, seating was in high demand. Admission is free; donations are encouraged. For more information:
